Networking, panel discussion and Q&As. Scotland’s fast growing Games Industry has a worldwide reputation for creativity and innovation, and needs to recruit students with a range of backgrounds and skills. Explore different aspects of the industry such as Design, Programming, and Publishing. Following the speaker panel there will be networking drinks with games companies and a selection of interactive demonstrations from selected companies.

Speakers

Jamie Coleman is Managing Director of CodeBase, the UK’s largest tech incubator with companies such as Kotikan, Rightscale, Cloudsoft and Float as tenants. He is also currently founder and Director of the Turing Festival; a Board member of The Edinburgh International Festival; Chief Executive of GlycoSys, an open medicine technology company and a Board Member of ScotlandIS, the Software Trade Body in Scotland. Jamie began his career in Cardiovascular Disease and Diabetic Pregnancy. He has been involved for many years in biotechnology and commercialisation within the Life Sciences. He has founded and acted as Director in companies involved in science animation, educational software and medical data.

Charlie Czerkawski is a founding partner and CDO for Guerilla Tea. His time is currently evenly divided between practical day to day game design tasks, along with managing external communication for the company. His role covers all core branches of game design including vision keeping, system design, gameplay balancing, creative writing and level design. He is also responsible for the more outward facing roles such as promotion, marketing and aspects of business development.

Alice Rendell is a Game Designer on project Zodiac, an online-RPG made in collaboration with ex-Final Fantasy veterans and Kobojo. Her specialities are concept creation, design documentation and narrative. Alice is also a member of the IGDA Scotland’s Board of Directors.

Ricardo Viana, Creative Director, Reloaded Productions who are recognised globally as a pioneer in the development, publishing and support of massively-multiplayer online free-to-play titles including APB: Reloaded, which attracted 3,000,000 players in its first month.
